The middle of our family week

Well, last night was interesting for our family night. Once again - Bruce got home just a few minutes before 5:00 - he is now home for four days straight!!!! We had a late lunch so we decided to work on the puzzle first and then make dinner a little later. We had an 'adopted' daughter over for a little bit of the puzzle activity. Soon after she left Lea came down with the stomach flu. So she really only participated in laying on the couch. We had Navajo Taco's for dinner and David fried up most of the bread! He did a great job. Cato made the 'innards' of the Pecan Pie for Thanksgiving all by himself. Bruce cut up the turkey (we bake it the day before and then reheat it in it's own juices on Thanksgiving day - very yummy). Robby was helping me get things cleaned up. We were all in the kitchen together and it was so much fun! During dinner we opened up one of the cans of salsa and the top was covered in mold - or so we thought. After putting everything away that night we brought out the microscope and looked at it a little closer - come to find out it was some type of yeast! Gotta love homeschooling! I don't think I would have bought a microscope for any other reason. About that time David started feeling sick to his stomach, so for our family scriptures Robby recited a verse for us that he says every Sunday - Alma 53: 20 -21 "And they were all young men, and they were exceedingly valiant for courage, and also for strength and activity; but behold, this was not all—they were men who were true at all times in whatsoever thing they were entrusted. Yea, they were men of truth and soberness, for they had been taught to keep the commandments of God and to walk uprightly before him." I love this verse - this is my goal for my boys. I'm thankful that the Young Men leaders in our ward have them recite this every week. So, even though we had two kids with the stomach flu - it was still a great night. I can see a change coming on a regular basis for this family.
