2nd Day of our Family Week

We had a huge Family Home Evening tonight. Monday nights in our church are reserved for Family Home Evening. Since this Family Proclamation Week is a stake wide intiative we invited all of our family in the stake to come over and have FHE. We had 5 families in our home. We have 2 residents and 1 medical school student and one other student in all of these families and a miracle happened - we were able to get together and only miss out on 1 person. Another miracle was Bruce was on home call again. He got home right at 5:00 and didn't a call to go back in until we had the kids in bed!

We had Karen and Rob tell stories of our family's past. Her dad and Bruce's grandpa are brothers. It was great hearing these stories and knowing some of the family's history. Then Eldon & Shannon had a fun skit of the 'chin' family song. Jocie and Tyson helped all the kids play 'Warmer/Colder'. Then we had yummy ice cream sundaes from Mandy and we provided hot apple cider. It was tons of fun and you wouldn't believe the energy in that room - we had 11 kids ages 7 and under.

This gave me a small glimpse of the eternal nature of families. We didn't even know these family members until we moved here and now we love them all just as much as if we had known them our whole lives.
