Family Vacation - Part 1 Niagara Falls

Last week we were able to go on a much needed vacation.  There were quite a few things that didn't go as planned, but it was nice to get away as a family. B is in a pretty rough rotation now and we don't get to see him much, so this was very nice to be with him.

We drove to Niagra Falls.  We only saw the U.S. side.  We were told that we HAD to see the Canadian side.  Because of the cost of passports we decided we would be just fine with the American side.  We were right - it was absolutley amazing.  Just standing there and feeling the power of all of that water.  It's impossible for me  to look at something like that in nature and not be 100% convinced that there is a God and He has created so many wonderful things for us. "But Alma said unto him: Thou hast had signs enough; will ye tempt your God? Will ye say, Show unto me a sign, when ye have the testimony of  all these thy brethren, and also all the holy prophets? The sciptures are laid before thee, yea, and all things denote there is a God; yea, even the earth, and all things that are upon the face of it, yea, and its motion, yea, and also all the planets which move in their regular form do witness there is a Supreme Creator" Alma 30:44

We went on the observation deck.  In March it was still free for us to go on there.   I had a hard time looking down but it was another awesome view of the falls and the river.  We could see a little bit of the Canadian side.

We walked on over to Goat Island and the Three Sister Islands. More beautiful scenery and even a little hiking around. We tried some letterboxing, but never found any of them :(

There were a ton of seagulls diving down and getting some little creature out of the water to eat  The bridge is the pedestrian bridge to Goat Island.  This is just upriver from the falls

This was once we were on Goat Island.  There was a point that you could see the American Falls to your right and some of the Canadian Horseshoe falls on your left.

D&C on our lunch break.  There were some pretty brave squirrels that were wanting their food.

We figured they did this to look like they were saying please.

This one came really close to C - he really wanted his apple.
